Southeast Michigan Startup Making Waves!

Oakland County, MI -- Initiative Science™ (IS™) is teaming up with several, local educational companies to provide a wide variety of cloud-based, learning and research services.  “We have always been strong in the experiential life sciences, but it is our mission during the next 24 months to optimize our math and engineering online content to better serve the inquiring minds of Metropolitan Detroit.”, according to Andrew B. Raupp,  the Founder and Director of Initiative Science™.

Besides diversifying its educational portfolio, IS Research™ (ISR™) is also eagerly anticipating its partnership with The Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD).  IS Research™ will be lending its analytics, metrics and assessment technologies to monitor the student progress of those participating in the Future City Competition™.  The FCC™ has been hosted by ESD for over 15 years, reaching as many as 3000 students annually.  Initiative Science will help increase that number to 10,000+, by encouraging all Detroit Public Middle Schools to get involved.  IS Research™ ultimately aspires to implement its cloud-based metrics engine, codenamed “T4”, nationally beginning in 2011-2012.

Additionally, IS Research™ will bid to become an “SBAC” service provider.  The SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortium is a collection of 31 states, that plan on digitizing student standardized testing.  ISR™’s proprietary “T4” technology has been touted as the most affordable and efficient, algorithmic assessment engine to date and will be considered in 2011 as a possible replacement technology for the State of Michigan’s MEAP test.

I anticipate that we will all be hearing a lot more about this company in the near future.  The best part is, it plans on creating all of its future programs and products right here in Michigan.
